SOAR Soccer

SOAR soccer is a growing Christian outreach ministry that offers soccer opportunities for children, adults, and families. The organization is sponsored by Columbia International University, where Dawson studied computer science and grew up playing and coaching soccer. The camp is held on the Columbia campus and is open to all children, ages five to fourteen. During the camp, players teach new skills and lead devotions. At the end of the week, the participants are given TWO YETI coolers to take home.

Bryan is married to Cyndi. Their three sons play SOAR soccer. They also practice good sportsmanship and have a lot of fun. Their son, Ryan, plays SOAR, as do their grandchildren. The team’s website says that a successful season is the goal, but it can’t be achieved without the proper equipment. A soccer ball and shin guards are a must. After joining the SOAR team, you can practice your favorite sport.

The SOAR soccer ministry began as a small missionary ministry for children in 1999. It was adopted by the CIU sports department and now boasts a 501c3 called SOAR Columbia. The organization has grown to include sports such as baseball, basketball, and volleyball, on its 18-acre Sports Complex. The church, whose facilities host the camp, is also home to the CIU soccer team. During the week, the campers can pick up the items they purchased at the SOAR office. The campers can then enjoy the games during the weekend.

Registration is open to all ages. For the Over 30 “A” LEAGUE, male players must be at least 30 years old. Females must be at least 24 years old by the beginning of the playoffs. The Over 30 “B” LEAGUE is for coed and requires a roster of at least fifteen players. This fun and fast-paced league is great for beginners and is a great way to get in shape for the next season.
