Otterbein Women’s Soccer Wins OAC Tournament

Otterbein women’s soccer has had a lot of success over the years. The program won its first OAC Tournament in 2003, and was 56-11-5 overall in the past few years. However, two senior class members have graduated, so the team has lost some of its top players. This fall, the Cardinals will be getting a facelift in order to better compete in the conference. This season, they will play Ohio Northern, which has won the OAC Tournament six times in the past seven seasons.

Otterbein Women’s Soccer

In her first season, Karen McLaughlin became the star of the Otterbein women’s soccer program, scoring nine goals. She won her first OAC Championship in 2000 and hat-trick in a 2-0 win over OhioDominicanUniversity. In the 108th minute of a game against DenisonUniversity, she scored the ‘Golden Goal’ and ignited a spirited rivalry between the schools.

The Otterbein Women’s Soccer program was able to win 63 games last season and win the OAC Tournament in 2005. The team has a good record and has been 4-0 in the OAC this year. While it has lost 10 games, the team has still managed to score seven goals in the last two seasons. They also have played in the NCAA Tournament twice, once in 2004 and once in 2005.

Jenna Brader, the head coach of the Otterbein women’s soccer team, is returning to the Otterbein campus to watch her former teammates play. The former Wide Defender is still a regular on the campus of Otterbein and still returns for alumni matches. She was an All-American in 2005 and finished her career as an inspirational leader for the team. She has been a great ambassador for the women’s soccer program at the university and is still involved in many events.

In the first half, the Otterbein Cardinals held a narrow lead. They led the game by eight goals in the first half, and dominated the game’s shots with a ten-to-one advantage. Lauren Lo has been the head coach of the Otterbein women’s soccer team since 2008. She was a captain on the 2005 and 2006 teams and led the defense to a 50-7-6 record. She was a graduate assistant coach at Otterbein for two years after graduating.
