Houston Dynamo jersey is a range of clothing from the popular football club of Houston, Texas. The club was founded in 1974 and has so far won three MLS Cups, two US Open Cups and one MLS playoff. This is a remarkable achievement for an amateur team which was at one time considered to be part of the MLS. In recent times the club has undergone changes to name the current team Houston Rockets.

So what exactly is the new jersey design and color scheme? As already mentioned there are many changes to the team name and colors as well as the shorts and socks design. However, the mainstay of this kit is the Dabi kit which is sold as a single product and includes both the home and away shirts. The home kit is mainly white with subtle amounts of blue and red prints while the away shirt is predominantly black with navy numbers and shorts. A new design for the away shirt sees the traditional home text replaced by a more modern looking Houston Rockets logo.
The Houston Dynamo also have a brand new kit sponsor for the next season and that is the Ea Sports Fifth Degree. This is a tie up between Ea Sports, who own the rights to a brand called Fifth Degree, and the Houston Dynamo as well as the Dash. As part of the deal the club will use the number printed on the left side of the shirt. This is in keeping with tradition and is a part of the rich history that the club has.

As well as the home and away shirts the Houston Dynamo will also be sporting a new jersey for the youth teams. The Houston Touch, a youth team of the Dynamo, will be wearing the new shorts and socks designs. The club will be introducing two separate shorts for the boys and girls teams, which has been a tradition in the MLS. These uniforms do not feature the sponsor logos but are designed for the kids to express themselves. The home and away kit design is largely the same as that of the first team but the shorts have been reduced in size by one inch in comparison to the first team’s design.
As part of the team’s growth and establishment the team have introduced two new players into the mix. Defender upfront and midfielder Ruben Boveran, who can play right and left back, is joining the Dynamos from Mexican second division side Racing Club de Houston. Defender Matt Lampard is already a seasoned player for the MLS and is set to move to the bench once again this season. However he has made it clear that he is ready to challenge for a place in the starting line-up when fit. Lampard will be hoping to add some additional game time during the Houston Dynamo’s 25th season celebration.
Another player leaving the club following the 25th season celebration is goalkeeper David Gerso. The Argentine goalkeeper was one of the players that benefitted from the academy system introduced by coach Howard Crocker during the latter years of the franchise’s existence. Gerso began his career at Sporting Lisbon before making over two years with FC Barcelona, where he won four trophies, including the Spanish cup. He moved to Houston prior to the start of the 2021 season.

Two home games this season have been sold out and ticket sales are at an all-time high for the club. Sunday’s match against FC Dallas was the most watched game ever on television according to the Sports Business Journal. Saturday’s tilt versus Sporting Kansas City was also watched by a record setting crowd of 18 million people. These are the type of numbers that the Dynamo’s front office would like to see for the rest of the season. The team is also in the process of trying to sign a television contract in the Dallas area. Getting a deal done with a Texas based television station could provide the club with much needed national exposure.
Sunday’s match versus FC Dallas was a much needed away game for the Houston Dynamo since they only have one win in their last twelve trips to Dallas. The first half ended scoreless, but the Dynamo came from behind on the road to win 4-1. This was also the first win over an in-state rival for the Dynamo in the past twelve months. This win gave hope to the fans that the Dynamo are a serious threat to capture the MLS Eastern Conference title this year. The loss to the Portland Timbers in the weekend was a major blow, but the performances of the players have been much more than satisfactory thus far.
If the Dynamo can get hot at the right time, they have a great opportunity to earn a playoff berth. However, their first two months of the season has shown that they may not be able to weather the storm and go on to challenge for the MLS title. Saturday’s defeat to the Portland Timbers was a major disappointment and it put a dent in their title hopes. The teams that are able to weather such eventualities are usually the better ones in the end and that is exactly what the Houston Dynamo should be looking at this season.
